Florida Statue 627.0629 states that, a rate filing for residential property insurance must include reasonable discounts, credits, or other rate differentials, or appropriate reductions in deductibles, for properties on which fixtures or construction techniques demonstrated to reduce the amount of loss in a windstorm have been installed or implemented.

We are going to verify:

  • When the roof covering was done? Does your roof qualify for FBC Florida Building Code credit A wind resistant if installed after March 1, 2002
  • Roof geometry (Is it a flat roof? A hip roof? Is it a gable roof? If so, is it properly built or braced?
  • All windows and doors to make sure if they are impact rated or have Miami Dade County control approved shutters.
  • Also the attic credits like nail measurement, roof deck attachment, roof deck thickness & roof to wall attachment.
